Graduation!

Over the weekend, Lindenwood University held their graduation commencement ceremony for the College of Arts and Humanities. After three years at SCC (where I got my A.F.A.) and two years at Lindenwood, I finally graduated summa cum laude and received my B.A. in English with a Creative Writing emphasis.

It’s a bit of a surreal experience. Even though I’ve been looking forward to graduation for a while now, it’s always been one of those goals that I’ve thought of as happening “later,” not “now.” I knew I would eventually get my bachelor’s degree, but the end somehow snuck up on me.

I’ll be attending grad school in the fall, so I’m not completely removed from the academic setting. But the MFA program is entirely online, so I won’t have the in-person experience that I had for undergrad. A bit of a transition, but one that I’m looking forward to. I’ve made quite a few friends at Lindenwood, many of whom graduated with me as well, so we all have a nice support group to help us as we move on to the next adventure of our lives. I’m excited to see what the future holds!
